It’s a rare and special thing when a mother and
daughter can find an activity they love to share.
And that’s just what Prescott High School Student Amber Fillingim and her mother,
Shelley, have together as volunteers for the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP).
The organization’s credo is "citizens helping citizens in crisis," and that’s what
you’ll find this team accomplishing together three times a month during their 12-hour
shifts. In fact, volunteerism is alive and well in our Prescott area, and we’ll introduce
you to two more young women featured in the August/September Prescott Woman Magazine who
are also making things happen.
It’s that time where kids are heading back to class -- and in some cases -- so are
their parents. Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University are constantly updating
their programs. You can read all about their latest innovations in education in our Back
to School Section.
Our home feature in this month’s issue of Prescott Woman Magazine provides a glimpse
into the eclectic decorating style of Teri and Bob Taylor’s Forest Trails home in
Prescott. During the family’s younger years spent in their home, they collected all kinds
of memories of special times spent together. Today those reminiscences are what adds up to
a warm, friendly family home.
Check out all these features, and so many more, in the August/September edition of
Prescott Woman Magazine.
